After five successful years at our Lemmon Valley site, the Nevada Bugs and Butterflies Science Center and Butterfly house will be temporarily closed for the 2018 and 2019 seasons as we work to find a permanent home.
While we are sad not to welcome everyone to the butterfly this summer, we look forward to welcoming you to a new future site, where we will bring visitors a renewed sense of place, connection with our natural resources, and a new love for insects for many years to come. You can read more about this here.
Past Hours, Admission & Group Visits
Feel free to email or call us at info[at]nevadabugs[dot]org or 775-200-8774 for outreach events.
Our Butterfly House and Science Center is a free educational asset for the northern Nevada community!
The butterfly house is always free and open to families during our open hours. Group visits are also free and available by reservation: If you would like to schedule a group, please email us with potential dates during our open hours, group size and age, and organization (mom’s club, school class, etc.). Please note that groups are limited to 20-25 children, depending on age, in order to accommodate the size of our site. We also request at least three adults for each group.
